- Seongbin's statement (round 1): He says he's not really close with the others in the group. He's the class president and the first to discover that Hyeseong was dead. His parents are divorced, and his sick mother can only rely on him.
Personality
Lizonka: I swear this guy's personality section is the hardest to write. I can't fucking read him. He's so normal that it's sus. You can hardly find fault in him. Whatever. Innocent or not, he'll always be our baby.
- Although Seongbin says he's not close with any of the others, throughout the flashbacks, he got along with them just fine. Perhaps because, like Hyeseong, he is one who likes to avoid conflict and keep the peace. He interjected during Yun and Hanna's argument on Day 1 (Chapter 3), as well as tried to calm everyone on Day 4 (Chapter 7) when they were arguing whether Hyeseong had really gone for water earlier.
- He also constantly looks out for others. On Day 1 (Chapter 6), he warns Hyeseong and Hanna about how they'd be dehydrated if they spent too much energy in such a hot and humid room. On Day 4 (Chapter 7), he even tells Hyeseong to be careful in walking when they were on their way to the drinking area.
- In Chapter 3, Juntaek calls Seongbin an optimist. And in a way, he's right. Throughout the flashbacks, Seongbin is seen putting aside his feelings of discomfort in order to focus on what's important, like preserving his energy. Even when the situation turns dire, he remains coolheaded and looks at the bright side of things.
- But most notably, Seongbin is one who seems to have a high sense of self-preservation. Although he looks out for others at times, when he is cornered, he doesn't hesitate to wash his hands off the matter. Dr. Ju even notes this during
